This is NOT a college lecture. This is an interactive community centered event where YOU can:
- explore real genomic data
- learn how genes may impact health and Medic*tion response
- understand privacy and data protections
- ask questions openly
- share your perspective
- help shape future health research
Whether you know nothing about genomics or already have experience with health research, this event is designed for all levels.
Together, we will break down:
- What DNA and genes actually are
- How the body develops
- What genomics means in plain language
- How precision medicine works
- Why community representation in research matters
- How genomics may connect to: cancer risk, heart disease, addiction, mental health, pain management and Medic*tion response
Participants will also explore public genomics tools and datasets in a guided βSandboxβ environment with support from facilitators and researchers.
This event centers community voice, transparency, and trust while helping participants better understand how science and community health connect.
