The Future of Workplaces

Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and CBRE Singapore are excited to jointly organise a networking session on 15 August 2024.

During the networking event, we’ll be exploring the theme on – The Future of Workplaces.

The event will start with seperate sharings from Mr Simon Long and Mr Jamie Wise from CBRE on AI and the Future of Workplace and Navigating ESG in your business.

Afterwhich, we'll move into a panel disucssion that will explore three factors affecting the future of the workplaces: AI, Design and ESG.

The discussion will deep dive into key challenges relating the three aspects, and the trends and opportunities where businesses could leverage on moving forward.

1. AI in the workplace: Data privacy and confidentiality challenges.

2. Workplace design: Technological advancements and hybrid work is driving design transformations.

3. ESG: Why is ESG important, how companies are responding to ESG, current and future ESG/sustainability trends in Singapore.

Speaker Profile:

Fiona Alexander, Head of Workplace Strategy, Southeast Asia, CBRE

Fiona is an Executive Director with CBRE leading the Southeast Asia workplace team. Fiona and her team work to bolster the performance of organizations by developing holistic solutions that integrate people, work processes, technology, and space. Her experiences have given her a strong understanding of corporate real estate end-to-end – organizational design, processes, workplace design, planning, portfolio decisions, risks and operations. She has worked directly with corporate real estate executives and business leaders recommending how they support their people, position their businesses and manage their real estate assets

Jamie Wise, Senior Programme Manager and Head of Occupier ESG Solutions , ESG Consulting & Sustainability Services, CBRE Singapore

Jamie has 7 years of experience within the Real Estate ESG space. During this time he has worked with a wide range of clients, including both investors and occupiers, to help develop portfolio wide strategies, establish long term targets and decarbonise their assets. Jamie currently acts as the Head of Occupier Solutions for the CBRE ESG team based in Singapore. This role is seeing him expand CBRE’s sustainability offerings to a new range of clients across APAC as they look to keep up with new legislation and deliver upon their long term targets.

Simon Long, Senior Director, Technology Strategy and Transformation, Southeast Asia, CBRE

Simon Long is a Senior Director of Technology Strategy and Transformation at CBRE Singapore, known for his innovative approach in technology strategy. With over 20 years of experience, Simon excels in pioneering smart building solutions, IoT, big data, analytics, AI-driven strategies, and digital transformation, especially in Workplace Technology and PropTech. His expertise extends to the corporate, leisure, hospitality, and retail sectors, having collaborated with major industry clients on over 100 transformative tech projects.

Carol Wong, Executive Director, Total Workplace, Cushman & Wakefield

Carol joined Cushman & Wakefield in August 2018 as Total Workplace Lead for Global Occupier Services, Asia Pacific. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Total Workplace, delivering services ranging from workplace strategy, workplace change management to operationalize workplace experience in Asia Pacific. Carol works with her team to design, develop and implement consistent methodologies as well as processes across APAC and amongst local workplace practitioners. Carol acts as governance to ensure that Cushman & Wakefield provides consistent experience and deliverables to all our clients across regions, and we can leverage global best practice.

Simon Raper, Director, Head of Savills Design APAC

Since Simon joined Savills in December 2020, Simon has grown the Savills Design APAC team across the region, building a centre of excellence here in Singapore where his team delivers Workplace Strategy, Design and Change Management Services to corporate occupiers and more recently to a wider group, branching out in to Education, Life Sciences and Labs. Simon has worked globally, and has now spent over half of his 37+ year career here in the APAC region, settling in Singapore after living in mainland China and Australia. Simon remains continuously intrigued and passionate about what makes business and people work well. Concentrating his thinking on the future of work, and is recognised for his contributions to industry workshops, events and talks.
