For founders who think differently, IBACC is proud to present the biggest startup competition of the country till date - The Future of Capitalism! Organized by the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka in collaboration with Leo Lion Foundation and Praava Health, the competition aims to offer visionaries a platform to shape their ideas into actionables and accelerate their operations. Top entries will receive a hefty total of $250,000 USD seed fund to materialize their lifelong dreams.ELIGIBILITY
This is the first open competition organized by IBACC, with a motive to draw and hone the brightest minds from around the country. Both current students and graduates are eligible to apply. Pre-revenue startups and ideations are encouraged to apply. The ideal startup will be tech-based, regardless of industry or field.
TEAM COMPOSITION
Each team will consist of 1-3 members. Individual entrepreneurs are encouraged to participate.
Cross-university teams are allowed. So are teams consisting of a mix of students, working professionals, and unoccupied individuals
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
REGISTRATION (25th December 2024 - 24th January 2025)
Aspiring teams from around the country will register within this window. Please stay tuned for details regarding the registration procedure.
WORKSHOP (TBD)
In order to give the participants an idea of the upcoming round and its learning requirements, a workshop will be organised before Round 01 begins. Further workshops will be conducted as per the needs of the following rounds.
ROUND 01 - IDEATION (1st January 2025 - 30th January 2025)
All registered and eligible teams have to submit a pitch deck of their idea or startup online within 20-slides. After a rigourous judging process, a total of 64 teams will go on to the next round.
ROUND 02 - FEASIBILITY (2nd February 2025 to 15th February 2025)
Participants will have to submit a feasibility analysis document. The document will be assessed based on technical, financial, market, and organizational feasibility. From Round 02, only 24 teams will go on to the Semi-Final round.
SEMIFINAL - IMC & DEPLOYMENT (7th March 2025)
Participants will have to present their Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) plan in an online round. Each team will get 12 minutes to present their plan, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session. From the Semi-Final round, after meticulous judgement, only 8 teams will go on to the Grand Finale.
MENTORSHIP
Each of the 8 finalist teams will be assigned an industry leader as a mentor to work out their pitch and perfect it. This will be a great opportunity not only for rising startups to scope out their business and potential, but also create the opportunity for venturers to connect and establish formidable networks.
GRAND FINALE - PITCH DAY (11th April 2025)
By the Grand Finale, each of the 8 qualifying teams will have worked on their pitches for around 3 months, perfecting it to the nearest details. At the Grand Finale, the teams will get the opportunity to present their startup ventures in front of a panel of judges and a variety of investors. Each team will get 15 minutes to present their pitch, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session. The 3 winning teams will receive accolades and up to $250,000 USD seed funding will be distributed among deserving startups at the discretion of the investors.
