Chinook Musical Society presents JUNO-nominated acoustic folk-roots group The Fugitives, with The Charms.
Hailing from Vancouver, The Fugitives are headed by songwriters Adrian Glynn and Brendan McLeod, joined by banjo player Chris Suen (Viper Central) and violinist Carly Frey (The Coal Porters). With their first 5 albums they collected numerous Canadian Folk Music Awards, Western Canadian Music Awards and a Juno nomination, and have toured extensively through Canada, Europe and the UK.
In 2020, they created “Ridge”, a WW1-centered theatre show, which was named a Globe & Mail “Top Arts Pick of the Year” and has toured to over 30 theatres across Canada, including this past November at Lunchbox Theatre.
The band has earned a reputation for unforgettable live shows brimming with complex harmonies, infectious storytelling and top-notch musicianship.

Opening the evening is multiple award-winning Roots/Americana duo, The Charms, featuring Calgary’s own Denis Dufresne and Megan Ann Konschuh.
Denis is a 7 time CCMA award winning musician and the current "Fiddle Player of the Year". His long history in the music business has seen him perform around the globe, from his beginnings in the fiddle supergroup, Barrage, to his time as an established professional, recording and playing for acts like Jann Arden, Gord Bamford, George Canyon, GhostBoy and so many others.
Megan is an an incredibly talented player and is western Canada's premier Bollywood violinist! With a focus on their love of Canadiana and Roots music, The Charms use 2 voices, 2 guitars and 2 violins to share their love of music from Canada and around the world.

Chinook Musical Society presents 9 "Saturday Night Special" concerts every year, featuring a range of genres from folk and country, to blues, Celtic and folk rock. While we do present acts from all over North America, and some international, we are especially proud to showcase our Canadian and local Alberta artists.
The evening starts with one set from our opening artist, followed by two sets from our headliner. That’s three sets of incredible music in a relaxed, intimate setting, at a venue with ample free parking, full (cash only) bar and concession. Tickets are just $35.
