Please join the Friends as we welcome Tom Fraser who lead us on a walking tour which will explore the gravesites of politicians of the early to middle 1800's, some allies who supported Van Buren's political endeavors, some who were staunch enemies, and some who embodied both of those titles. We will cover a few other Albany and Capital Region notables who lived during Van Buren's era and contributed to the political discourse of the day. And finally, we will talk about a couple of Van Buren family members who are buried in ARC and why President Van Buren is not buried here. The walking tour should last an hour or so and cover less than 2 miles in the older portion of the cemetery. Wear comfortable shoes! Rain or shine!
