The Free Label will play at BIRD in Rotterdam on June 10, 2026.The Free Label is a collective of six musicians from Toronto with a strong focus on funk, soul, and groove. The band is known for tight live shows, rich arrangements, and a clear love of ensemble playing. Their sound moves smoothly between modern funk and warm soul, with room for improvisation and dynamics.
The band previously toured Europe as the opening act for Incognito and MonoNeon and played festivals such as the Mariposa Folk Festival, Canadian Music Week, and the Oakland Jazz Festival. On their second album, The Free Label collaborated with Braxton Cook, an artist who has also previously performed with BIRD.
For fans of Vulfpeck, Khruangbin, Durand Jones & The Indications and MonoNeon, this is a show that will hit home.
