About this Event
Join the Edmonton Permaculture Guild as we host Denis Manzer and Kimberly Gray from Calgary for a screening of the documentary "The Food Beneath our Feet"!
The Food Beneath our feet is a raw and educational plant walk, looking at food and herbs that grow wild in the city of Calgary. The film Features two of Calgary's well known foragers, Denis Manzer and Malcolm Saunders.
The Food Beneath Our Feet explores the often-overlooked world of wild foods and foraging, revealing how landscapes around us provide nourishment beyond conventional agriculture. The film highlights the knowledge, ethics, and ecological awareness required to harvest food responsibly from the land, while reconnecting people to seasonal cycles and local ecosystems.
Through stories of foragers and land stewards, the documentary invites viewers to rethink food as something rooted in place, relationship, and respect for the living world.
This will be followed by a Q&A with Denis Manzer, featured in the film and Kimberly Gray, one of the Directors!
This is a great chance to ask whatever questions you may have related to foraging, herbalism and filmmaking! We look forward to seeing you there! "
