The Flock’s Walk at La Chua (via the Hawthorne Trail) 🌿
Join The Flock for a morning walk starting at La Chua. But instead of heading out on the traditional La Chua boardwalk, we’ll meet in the parking lot and walk along the Hawthorne Trail together.

⏱ Duration: 1.5–2 hours
🌿 Trail Conditions: Very easy walk; open with shade
💲 Parking: $4 per vehicle (QR code payment at entrance)
What to Expect
While we won’t be walking the La Chua boardwalk on this outing, the surrounding prairie edges and wooded habitat still offer great opportunities to see a variety of species. The trail is paved, but expect some inclines along the way.

☀️ Sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen (though the trail is mostly shaded)
🦟 Bug spray (now officially a necessity)
🥾 Sneakers or hiking shoes

Carpooling is encouraged. There is a parking fee for the park, payable through a QR code.
