This class focuses on teaching practical tailoring and alteration techniques to improve the fit of ready-to-wear garments. You’ll learn how to assess fit issues, make precise adjustments, and alter clothing using beginner-friendly methods so your pieces look custom, polished, and well-fitted.

You’ll learn how to assess garments for repair or redesign, understanding which fixes will make the biggest difference.
Essential Mending Techniques
We’ll cover hand-sewing fundamentals like hemming, repairing seams, fixing holes, reattaching straps, and tightening loose stitches.
Basic Alteration Skills
You’ll learn how to take in, let out, crop, or adjust fits on tops, pants, and skirts using simple, approachable methods.
Using the Sewing Machine for Repairs
We’ll show you how to reinforce seams, resew hems, and make clean alterations using the machine for a professional finish.
Creative Upcycling Ideas
You’ll explore beginner-friendly ways to transform old clothing—turning dated or damaged pieces into something you’ll actually wear.
