Here, in Mevagissey, we live by the sea, but even we can be surprised when we learn more about the amazing lives of creatures that live in the sea.For over fourteen years, local wildlife fan, Rob Wells (with helpers), has been studying seals locally and on the Roseland Peninsula. After monitoring and photographing seals, data is shared with the Cornwall based Seal Research Trust (SRT).
Here, it is combined with similar information from around the SW UK and beyond and analysed to give a regional picture of the discoveries made about the lives of seals that visit our patch.
Rob will present an illustrated talk about local and SRT findings which will be followed by a Q & A session. This will be led by Sue Sayer MBE, the Founder and Director of the Seal Research Trust, who has studied seals since the year 2000.
This is a free event with donations welcome, taking place Thursday 26th March upstairs at Mevagissey Social Club.
