Join us for the release of The Family Archives, a publication by Black Archives Sweden exploring Black self-representation, memory, and diasporic life through family archives.Bringing together contributed materials, commissioned texts, artworks, and newly created family portraits, the publication reflects on how Black life in Sweden and across the diaspora is documented, remembered, and imagined beyond dominant archival frameworks.
Celebrate the release with us through conversation, music, and drinks. During the evening, there will be DJ sets by Lou-Andrea and André Taylor, food by Maama Akena, and floral arrangements by Lou-Andrea.
The publication includes material from Black Archives Sweden’s Family Archives collection, alongside commissioned texts by Nina Cramer, Marie-Louise Richards, Josh Rivers, Saba Tadele, and Mmabatho Thobejane.
Featuring artworks by Damien Ajavon, Eric Magassa, Ikram Abdulkadir, Joanna Johnson, Kosisochukwu Nnebe, Lydia Östberg Diakité, Marcia Harvey Isaksson, Nayra Aly, Rita Mawuena Benissan, Rudy Loewe, Saba Tadele, and Shani Ali.
