This presentation will cover two trips Ray has made to the Antarctic, both the continent itself, and the Peninsular. The latter will include visits to The Falkland Islands and the Island of South Georgia. It will be a mix of military history, exploration history, stunning scenery, and amazing wildlife. Ray says “when I left school, and wanting to travel, I joined the then BOAC. That later became British Airways. I served there for 30 years. I have been very lucky and have visited over 100 countries, indulging my many passions including history, transport, art architecture and the performing arts.”
The lecture will be held in the Peter Scoley Hall and is free for members.
Non-members - £5 which includes tea/coffee and biscuits.
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
