Lifelong friends travel to Key West, Florida to be bridesmaids for their college girlfriend's surprise wedding. There's Lou (Sarandon), an uptight, humourless cat lady and cardiac surgeon, Marilyn (Midler), a wealthy widow who has decided to get married two months after the death of her husband of 48 years, Alice (Mullally), a popular singer who lives life on the edge, and Kitty (Ralph), a kind-hearted mother and free spirit. This outrageous visit leads to the rekindling of friendships and the past resurfacing. One thing's for certain - their lives will never be the same.
