It's not a surprise that death is coming for us all... eventually. And yet, so many people die without having conversations with loved ones that could actually make the whole process a lot less stressful and a lot more meaningful. We learn about ourselves through interactions and discussions with others. Death cafes are a fascinating experience simply because they provide opportunities for hearing other people's perspectives, ideas and thoughts on something we all experience, yet rarely talk about.
Whether you're comfortable with death or harbouring some anxieties around the topic, everyone can benefit from a casual evening of community conversation. People often leave feeling reassured, hopeful and more informed.
#deathcafes happen in towns and cities all over the world, bringing people together with no agenda beyond creating an intentional space for discussing mortality and grief.
If this sounds interesting, come along to the Extra Special Death Cafe hosted by This Mortal Life at the brilliant Front Room theatre in #WestonSuperMare on Thursday 7th May. Death Cafes are free to attend, but spaces are limited so please reserve your spot!
