About this Event
The Exponential Festival presents The Mushroom by Normandy Sherwood & Nikki Calonge
The Mushroom. It is a radial play with spokes pointing outward. Or an explosion of spores in the form of an evening at the theater. It is a pageant that gives a micro view of the forest floor. It has to do with awe and decadence and the question: "What knows it's alive?"
Co-directed by Normandy Sherwood and Nikki Calonge

The Mushroom shape-shifts from a pageant that gives a micro view of the forest floor, to an incantation, to an inchworm tap-dance and on to many other mushroom tragedies and horrors, which add up to a larger display of our fascination and fear of porousness and fragmentation. It features dancing, successions of lacy meshes, and costumes that are scenic pieces.
CW: This show contains audience walking upstairs during performance.
