These courses aim to help caregivers feel more prepared to handle the challenges that come with caring for someone living with dementia. Caregivers may register for individual courses or complete the entire series to meet their needs.- Tuesday, September 17 @ 4:30pm, Supporting Independence
focuses on helping the person living with dementia take part in daily activities, providing the right support and balancing safety and independence while managing expectations.
- Tuesday, October 15@ 4:30pm, Communicating Effectively
caregivers will learn how dementia affects communication, including tips for communicating well with family, friends and health care professionals.
- Tuesday, November 19@ 4:30pm, Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors
explores the role of caregivers and changes they may experiences, building a support team, and managing caregiver stress.
- Tuesday, December 17 @ 4:30pm, Exploring Care & Support Services
examines how best to prepare for future care decisions and changes, including respite care, residential care and end-of-life care.
