Meet the Performing Artists of Episode #1:

DRFTR

DRFTR is the one-man creation of singer/songwriter/guitarist Oscar Anderson-Shortt. His soaring, soulful voice is tinged with R&B his songs are honest, intimate and from the heart. His music is best described as feely folk - all about emotion. From lost love to sharp political commentary with all life’s gritty and joyous bits in between, DRFTR taps into our common emotional landscape in a deeply thoughtful, melodic way.

His indie folk style has matured over the past 10 years, reflecting the influences of musical heroes Etta James, Hey Rosetta!, Anderson .Paak , John Mayer and Tom Misch. He has played alongside Craig Cardiff, Jeremy Fisher and Jim Bryson, Claire Coupland, Carl Dickson and Jeff Martin. 2018-19 saw DRFTR tour with 14 piece brass beast “My Son The Hurricane” opening many performances coast to coast within Canada.

Mitch Szitas

Mitch Szitas is a Canadian-born singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Southern Ontario. The intimate and thought-provoking nature of his songwriting is something that needs to be heard first hand. Having honed his skills providing the low-end as bass player for a variety of groups throughout his twenties, he has continued to expand his repertoire by returning to his acoustic roots and releasing music under his own name.

Mitch has a way of storytelling through song that is infectious as much as it is captivating. With a euphonious voice, catchy guitar lines, smooth harmonies, and lyrics that will have you holding your chin, his unique styling to the folk genre will have you thinking and feeling as though you’re somewhere familiar and welcome.

Ca3ryn

CA3RYN is an acoustic and electronic alternative artist based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. CA3RYN released her debut album, Easthouse, in 2021 and continues to pursue her passion for songwriting. She is set to release new music in 2025 and has been playing shows at popular venues in Toronto and the GTA, small intimate settings up north in Muskoka, and private events and weddings.

Neil LIttle

Neil Little is a singer-songwriter from Stratford, Ontario. His sound is a blend of alt-folk-Canadiana with the emphasis on thoughtful lyrics and interesting guitar work. Before Neil’s solo career he played in the band Firefly. Firefly played throughout Ontario and charted on college radio in the early 2000’s. Neil has 2 records with firefly as well as 2 solo EP’s. He is currently playing shows in Ontario with plans to record new music soon.
