In the city where over 5 million ZX Spectrum were made. The 8 bit experience is about this small but mighty personal computer and its American rival the Commodore 64.

The Hardware

The 3.5 MHz Spectrum versus the 1.0 MHz c64

Memory, sound, peripherals – joysticks, tape drives.

Data transfer

Before the internet, DVDs, CDs or even floppy discs there was tape.

A slow and unreliable format but there were loading screens and music and it was better than the alternative typing in the code.
