Event Overview
Ok, so you don't own a sewing machine, don't WANT to own a sewing machine, but you'd like to be able to fix some of those nagging problems that occur with clothing...buttons fall off, hems come out, a sweater gets a snag, a small hole in your favorite shirt. You know, the kind of repairs mom or grandma would have scolded you for paying the dry cleaner to do, and with poor results!
Welcome to doomsday, where we focus on giving you those basic skills in case of the zombie apocalypse (or to appease granny).
You will learn how to: sew a button on properly, fix a hem that came out of your dress slacks or skirt, move a snap, hook, or button to adjust fit, and how to fix small holes/snags in sweaters and shirts.
No machines used, just good old fashioned hand sewing with a needle, thread, scissors and a marking pencil.
Save yourself the cost at the dry cleaner, and learn a few self-sufficient mending skills that will amaze your friends! Or at least, make you feel good about yourself!All materials and machines supplied, for additional questions or class options visit our website at HISSstudio.com

We're working with scissors, pins, needles, hot irons and a machine...is there a chance of injuring myself?
YES!!!! If you are not paying attention or using care, it is possible to stab, cut, poke, burn or maim yourself with some of the items we use in class. HISS STUDIO IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR INJURIES SUSTAINED DURING CLASS. Please be mindful of the tools you are using, and use at your own risk! By purchasing tickets you acknowledge HISS STUDIO, the instructors and staff are NOT RESPONSIBLE for injuries sustained during class. Thanks!

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, you can also flash your receipt on your smart-thingy when you arrive.
What is the refund policy?
Classes are non-refundable. If you need to miss a class due to a scheduling conflict, please contact the organizer in advance to reschedule. We will do our best to accommodate last minute emergencies, but please be respectful of the instructor's and fellow students and only reschedule when absolutely necessary. No-shows WITHOUT PRIOR CONTACT BEFORE CLASS for rescheduling will NOT BE RESCHEDULED and your ticket will not be repurposed.
Please arrive 5 min early for class, arrivals later than 10 min from the schedule start time will be considered a no-show
In order to be respectful and have a full class session for all, PLEASE arrive 5 minutes early for class. This allows time for setup and settling in so we can start promptly. The building is secured, so your late arrival means disrupting class for others to admit your entry. If you are later than 10 minutes to class, you will be considered a no-show, we will not pause class to unlock the building, and you will need to reschedule your class at your own expense. We have recently had many, many students showing up late to class, and it not only disrupts the class in session, but throws off the entire schedule the rest of the day.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Yes, if you can't make a class or want to buy a class for a friend, that's ok. If you can let us know in advance, that'd be great, if not, make sure you or your friend can reference who bought the ticket so we know it wasn't stolen or hacked.
