This full day multi-agency conference, presented by Morecrofts Solicitors, will educate and motivate delegates as well as provide insight into a wide range professional practices and perspectives on domestic abuse.
The conference is a must-attend for professionals who encounter domestic abuse in their line of work, including police officers, NHS staff, social workers, lawyers, local government, educational institutions, and housing organisations.

Dr Keri Nixon
Dr Keri Nixon is a Consultant Forensic Psychologist. She runs her private practice on the Wirral, where she treats a variety of mental health problems, including complex trauma, PTSD, depression and anxiety. She uses a variety of treatments including EMDR. She also works as a consultant for police forces, the Home Office, and local authorities. In addition, she completes medico-legal work for criminal, family, and immigration courts. Dr Nixon is often called on by the media to discuss criminal cases, mental health and domestic abuse.
Dr Ged Smith
Dr. Ged Smith is a Consultant Systemic Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Trainer, working in NHS and various agencies for 30+ years, with many publications, honorary lectureships and presentations all over the world. His Doctorate was on challenging masculinity in therapy, and special interests include gender, power, self, and linguistic positioning in psychotherapy.
Emma Pickering, Senior Tech Abuse Manager, Refuge
Emma works for Refuge as the tech abuse manager. The tech abuse team directly supports victims facing technology-facilitated abuse. Emma is studying for her PhD with a focus on tech abuse and a focus in her current role is to shape legislation in relation to tech abuse.
