About this Event
What if the big questions in your life—career, family, service, courage—could be illuminated by a 2,000‑year‑old epic?
This unique evening blends live theatre with a modern take on ancient wisdom. We begin with a solo performance (monoact) on Yuyutsu, a lesser‑known but fascinating character from the Indian epic Mahabharata—imagine something between Game of Thrones and The Iliad. Born into the “wrong side” of a powerful family, Yuyutsu faces a stark choice: stay loyal to his brothers, or follow his conscience and switch sides on the eve of war.
His story is a gripping exploration of a timeless question:
What do you do when loyalty to family clashes with loyalty to what’s right?
After a short break, author Sushil Rapatwar introduces his new book, The Dharma Blueprint: Building a Life of Purpose & Impact. Using stories from politics, business, charity and everyday life in the UK and beyond, he translates the Indian idea of Dharma—living with integrity and responsibility—into practical tools you can use, whatever your background or beliefs.
You’ll leave with:
- A fresh, accessible introduction to key ideas from Indian wisdom
- Concrete ways to think about your own “battlefields” at work and at home
- Simple practices to align your decisions with your deeper values, not just deadlines and pressure
No prior knowledge of Indian texts or traditions is needed. This is for anyone curious about purpose, ethics and impact in a fast‑paced, modern world.
