The Aquibas Center of Theology invites you to attend their program: Spiritual Wisdom from The Dessert Mothers and Fathers. One of the greatest sources of Christian spiritual wisdom — including insight into the practice of prayer, meditation and contemplation — is the wisdom of the “Desert Mothers and Fathers,” Christians of the 3rd, 4th and 5th centuries who lived as hermits, monks or nuns in the deserts and wilderness of Egypt, Palestine and Syria. These ancient spiritual masters are respected both in Eastern and Western Christianity as great teachers of the interior life, wise men and women who truly show us the way to a deeper and more fulfilling spiritual life. In this program, author Carl McColman will introduce us to the some of the most colorful and remarkable stories of the Desert Mothers and Fathers, and explore how their ancient, timeless wisdom remains meaningful and relevant for all Christians today.
The event will be on Mar. 6 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Doors open at 6:30pm for Happy Hour. Dinner and the program will begin promptly at 7:00pm. Registration is required.
