Be transported to 1776 with Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, General George Washington, patriots, loyalists, soldiers and civilians. Greet revolutionary women, the local spinner, midwife and the town blacksmith. Learn what the Revolution meant to Black Corn and his native ancestors. See authentic historic documents at the Promise of Liberty exhibit in Village Hall Gallery. Enjoy period music, 18th century crafts and games; all culminating in a dramatic sound and light show reading of the Declaration by many voices at 8:30pm...directed by Rachel Wineburg. Free.
