The event celebrates 40 years of house music, marking a huge milestone for local DJ Dean Baker, who began his journey behind the decks in 1986 at just 17 years old. Four decades on, his passion for the music is as strong as ever. Having witnessed the evolution of the scene first-hand, Dean remains driven by the same feeling that started it all — the excitement of hearing a great record, whether it’s a timeless classic or something brand new lighting up dancefloors today.
To celebrate the occasion, Dean has teamed up with Docks Academy to create a special night bringing together friends, DJs and dancers who have shared the journey over the years.
Expect a musical trip through the sounds and venues that helped shape the scene — inspired by legendary nights and spaces including The Flam, Customs, The Waterfront, Chambers, Fused, Swish and Soulyrical. From soulful grooves to deeper cuts, the focus will always be on the cooler side of house.
With Victor Simonelli joining from the United States alongside a lineup of Dean’s closest DJ friends, this will be a celebration of the music, the culture and the memories built across four decades of house.
