DCAEYC is excited to host Dan Wuori, PH.D to discuss his new book "The Daycare Myth." Stay for an author book signing at the event's end.
About this Event

As both the District of Columbia and nation engage in debate over the best ways to make high-quality child care affordable and accessible to families, the District of Columbia Association for the Education of Young Children (DCAEYC) will host a public policy conversation with one of the nation’s most respected bipartisan authorities on young children and families. Dr. Dan Wuori, the Founder and President of Early Childhood Policy Solutions, will appear on October 8th to speak about his best selling book, "The Daycare Myth: What We Get Wrong About Early Care and Education (and What We Should Do About It)."

The event - which will mark the first stop of an international book tour for the author - will be held at the University of the District of Columbia, UDC Community College Auditorium Room E101, 5171 South Dakota Ave. NE, with Wuori speaking at 5:45pm and a book signing to follow. There will be no book sales during the event, so we highly encourage you to purchase your book during your online registration.

Wuori’s book challenges conventional wisdom on early childhood care and education and is a call to action for parents, policymakers, and the field around the need to better align policy with the science of early development.

“It’s long past time we reexamine our nation’s approach to young children and their families - which holds implications not only for children themselves but for taxpayers shouldering the endless cost of our failure to get things right in the first place,” said Wuori. “I can’t think of a better place to begin this critical conversation than the nation’s capital.”
