This month we read Rachel O’Dwyer’s
Money not issued by states is nothing new, argues Rachel O'Dwyer. This history of extra-monetary economics examines the past, present and (sometimes) concerning future of “tokens” such as NFTs, bitcoin and Amazon giftcards when considered in the wider context of digital platforms. Rachel O'Dwyer is a Lecturer in digital cultures at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin.
