What would a play be like if it came out of Cullercoats? The Cullercoats Play aims to find out!
Have you ever wanted to help create and then act in a brand new play? Or just throw in some ideas!
Renowned Cullercoats Playwright and Poet Peter Mortimer leads a series of workshops (free), for budding writers/actors resulting in a performance at this year’s Cullercoats Festival on June 13th 2026.
There will be an initial meeting on Wednesday 1st April 2026 - Sea View Room - Crescent Club, 7-9 pm, for anyone who is interested in the project.
Come along - whether you'd like to write it, act in it, help backstage or just throw in some ideas about what we should write about! All abilities welcome but there will be limited places available, so get in at the start!
Thereafter there’ll be 8 workshops in the same venue and at the same time commencing 8 April 2026 to construct the play. You must be able to attend these and on the Festival day 13th June. These workshops are aimed at adults.
