July Morning will headline on May 15th at Low 302 to celebrate the release of the band's debut album, The Colours of Darkness. The band will be bringing the album, some surprises, and their friends in PJ Orr and Jean Elliot to the stage! So grab your ticket from Oztix now and prepare for a night of excellent music!July Morning straddles the spaces between prog/art-rock, indie and folk. The band combines its eclectic influences and artistic ambitions to create visceral and exploratory music that incites the mind as much as it rattles the spirit.
PJ Orr channels cosmic Americana through a distinctly Australian widescreen lens, a place where angular indie rock and flashes of avant noise dissolve into alt folk-pop. The four-piece drift between hypnotic motorik grooves, pastoral folk textures and chiming guitar reverie.
Jean Elliot and her band have an air of grungy western, fuzz and folk. Hailing from The Hawkesbury, Jean sings about small-town Australia in all its glory, telling stories of butchers, bush and bogans to a wall of dramatic alt-country sound.
