A community-focused, catch-and-release fishing derby taking place on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, at Coggshall Park’s Upper Pond in Fitchburg. This event is designed to bring together local families, youth, and outdoor enthusiasts for a fun, sustainable day of fishing while promoting environmental awareness and conservation
Audience: Open to all ages – kids, teens, adults, families🎊
Fishing Style: Catch-and-release only
Rules:⚖️
• No lead weights
• Fishing is prohibited on the north and east shores of Mirror Lake ( The wooded side ) for safety concerns
• Clear signage will be posted to mark restricted zones
• Participants must handle fish gently and return them to the water immediately after weight and length checks

Entry Fee: 💵
• $10 per person Age 15+
• FREE Age 14 and under
- Age 14 and under - No fishing licensed required
- Age 15 + valid Massachusetts freshwater fishing license required .

• 6:30 AM: Check-in & rules briefing
• 7:00 AM: Lines in
• 1:00 PM: Lines out, final weigh-in
• 1:30 PM: Awards ceremony
• 2:00 – 3:00 PM: Volunteer-led park clean-up
