About this Event
We offer two different distances (5K and 2K) each year. Both distances will start and finish at the Hagadone Event Center/CDA Golf Course Resort. The 5K mile swim course will start at the beach and extend to the middle of the lake (2.5K out and 2.5K back). Swimmers doing the 2K swim will swim to the middle of the lake and return (1K out and 1K back) . The race will begin at 7am for the 5K racers and 7:30am for the 2K races. Both races will have the same finish line. Final start information will be outlined in the Pre-Race Technical Briefing on the beach prior to race start. Participants swimming the 5K swim must be at the turn around point before the official clock is at 1 hour and 15 minutes. Any swimmers failing to be halfway over the allotted time will be stopped and listed as DNF. Paramedics and Law Enforcement will be present. Water temperature in Lake Coeur d’Alene is expected to be appx 72 F. Wetsuits will be allowed but not mandatory.
This open water swim is designed to raise money for the Coeur d'Alene Area youth aquatics programs, including 3rd Grade Swim at the KROC. We provide the profits from the event to support a variety of youth swim programs. You are also welcome to add a separate donation during the check-out process. Even if friends and family cannot participate they can support with selecting a donation option during check out. This event supports the 3rd grade swim program held at the KROC that allows 3rd graders from CDA, Post Falls, Lakeland and Hayden to learn essential swim skills for safety and enjoyment in the waters that surround our area. This program is designed to allow access to swimming skills that can save lives of children enjoying our beautiful water surroundings. The Kroc water polo competitive team will also benefit from this event to help them with their local and extended travel needs to compete at the highest levels in water polo.
T-SHIRTS WILL NOT BE GIVEN OUT TO ANYONE REGISTERING AFTER July 30th. NO EXCEPTIONS ** ALL FUNDS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND CANNOT BE TRANSFERRED**
