About this Event
"People started to write about Night of the Living Dead and called them zombies. I said, ‘Wow, maybe they are.’ To me, they were dead neighbors.”
–filmmaker George A. Romero
As old ideas like white supremacy rise from the dead to devour our society from within, many of us feel like some sort of "reactionary mind virus" has infected half of our country, including many of our own neighbors, with cannibalistic right-wing rage. What do we do when dead ideas stop staying dead and society begins to collapse as a seemingly mindless horde stumbles onward, destroying everything in its path?
Join us at 7pm on the second Friday of each month for these free, public screenings, followed by discussion. All are welcome.
This month we will screen the original `modern zombie movie1968 Night of the Livng Dead by director George A. Romero. Then our panel of experts will discuss with us the symbolic resonance zombies might have for us in our current social and political situation.
