The 2025 film The Roses, starring Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch, is a modern remake/reimagining of the 1981 novel The War of the Roses by Warren Adler, which was famously filmed in 1989, not directly a true story but inspired by real-life bitter divorces, particularly a real Miami couple's saga that ABC News covered, making The Roses a fictionalized tale of a marriage's destructive descent.
