About this Event
The Canterbury Castle Quarter are inviting Canterbury residents and guests to the first ever Canterbury Dog Show! A lively, family friendly event with activities taking place from 10am. The Grand Finale: Best in Show takes place at 1:35pm, judged by the Lord Mayor!
If you would like to enter your dog, please chose one of the following categories. PLEASE NOTE: due to capacity your dog can only be entered in one category - so please choose carefully!
What to Expect on the Day
Categories entrants will have a 2 minute 'dog walk' infront of the judges, a 10 minute chat with other entrants, 5 minutes of Judge deliberation followed by 5 minutes of prize giving for the top 3 entrants.

- 10:35AM: Young Handlers (Kids under 12)
- 11:05AM: Dog Most Like Its Owner
- 11:35AM: Prettiest Girl
- 12:05PM: Handsomest Boy
- 12:35PM: Best Rescue
- 13:05PM: Golden Oldie (Dogs aged 8+)
- 13:35PM: The Grand Finale - Best in Show (Judged by the Lord Mayor)

- Registration Stall - For Sign up and prize collection
- Glory Dogs Stall - Pimp my Pooch station for dogs entering the competition

KEY EVENT INFORMATION
- Winners of the categories will need to return for the best in show final at 1.35pm
- Best Rescue category will need a story submitted on registration for the event
- Entrants are required to be at the Pimp my Pooch stations 30 minutes before their category if they would like to have their Pooch pimped
- Late arrivals will miss their slot and another dog may be assigned your slot
- Entrants can only submit 1 dog per category
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION & ENTRY
Dog Show – Terms and Conditions
1. Eligibility
- All dogs must be healthy, vaccinated, and fit to participate.
- Dogs must be registered with the show organisers prior to the event date.
- Aggressive dogs or dogs with a history of biting may be refused entry.
2. Health & Safety
- Participants must ensure their dogs are kept under control at all times.
- Dogs must be kept on a lead unless instructed otherwise by officials.
- Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
- Any dog showing signs of distress, illness, or aggressive behaviour may be removed from the competition at the discretion of officials.
3. Owner Responsibilities
- Owners must arrive on time for their category judging.
- Owners accept full responsibility for the behaviour and welfare of their dogs during the event.
- All personal items remain the responsibility of the owner; organisers accept no liability for loss or damage.
4. Judging
- The judges’ decisions are final and cannot be contested.
- Feedback from judges is discretionary and may not be provided in all categories.
- Any attempt to influence or dispute judging decisions may result in disqualification.
5. Liability
- Participation is at the owner’s and handler’s own risk.
- Organisers are not liable for injury, loss, or damage to dogs, owners, or property arising from participation in the event.
- Owners must hold appropriate insurance if required.
6. Conduct
- Abusive behaviour toward staff, judges, participants, or animals will not be tolerated.
- Any participant found mistreating a dog will be disqualified and may be asked to leave the event.
7. Photography & Media
- By entering, participants consent to photography and filming during the event.
- Images may be used by organisers for promotional purposes unless the owner requests otherwise in writing.
8. Cancellations & Changes
- Organisers reserve the right to amend categories, schedules, or rules if necessary.
- In the event of cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, refunds or transfers may be offered at the organisers’ discretion.
9. Prizes
- Prizes awarded are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
- Any prizes not collected on the event day may be forfeited.
10. Acceptance of Terms
- Entry into the dog show confirms acceptance of these Terms and Conditions by the owner/handler.
