About the presenter: Khadijah Z. Ali-Coleman, Ed.D. is a singer/songwriter, poet, and playwright based in Baltimore, Md who has appeared on stages across the country and internationally. She served as the second Poet Laureate of Prince George's County, MD from 2023-2025 and is a recipient of numerous grants and fellowships for her writing, performance, and teaching. Dr. Ali-Coleman is founder of the multidisciplinary arts group, Liberated Muse and the 501(c)3 nonprofit, Black Writers for Peace and Social Justice. Her accolades include grants and awards from the Maryland State Arts Council, Prince George's Arts and Humanities Council, Watering Hole Poetry, and Poets & Writers. She is a member of the Maryland Touring Artist Roster, ASCAP, the DC Chapter of the National Recording Academy, and the Dramatists Guild, and is currently an associate professor in the Humanities department at Coppin State University.
