About the Programme

If you have ever toyed with an idea for a fictional world but aren’t quite sure how to start putting it to the page, this workshop aims to guide you in taking those first, messy steps. Tunnelling into your own imagination and telling stories to yourself can be frustrating. Is it as cool as you think it is? Does it even make sense? Who will want to live in this world?

Together, we will uncover some non-exhaustive tenets of world-building and explore the considerations that go into shaping the world, the tensions that might arise, and the fun behind the process.

This programme is part of the NAC-NLB Writers' Lab.
