A rare chance to see roots-rock & roll group The Buffalo Skinners, with support from Conrad Bird (Holy Moly & The Crackers)In 2010, Pete, James, Robbie & Lawrence formed The Buffalo Skinners. They're in town for one night only playing a set made up of tunes from their last four records.
The current band mixes earthy accordion and fiddle tones with bluesy Fender Rhodes keys and guitar, their vocal harmonies freshly augmented by new members Clare Quinn & Rebecca Philip. On the band's latest album 'Picking Up What You’re Putting Down' they're fully submerged in a lively electric sound they'd previously only dipped their toes into. Tracks like Sonny Song and Wrong Crowd redolent of Cease Your Dreaming’s ‘Monkey On Your Back.’
Their travels have taken them across the USA, Ireland, France, Germany and Norway, with UK highlights including Glastonbury, BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park, Cambridge Folk Festival, Tramlines and Deer Shed. Along the way, they’ve earned spins and praise from BBC tastemakers Steve Lamacq, Bob Harris, Cerys Matthews, Janice Long, Paul Jones and Dermot O’Leary.
