✨Did I feel inspired? Is this a real question?! I felt more inspired and connected to my craft and industry more than ever. I came to the BTC show knowing what I was emotionally getting into and was so ready for it. the incredible education and nuggets of knowledge I picked up to bring back to my staff were a bonus. This show was everything to me this year. I came out of a dark place in spring of this year, its like I woke up from the last year of being in the shadows of who I used to be and found myself again. I fell back in love with my life and a lot of that is the hair world. being able to know I wasn't alone in this journey and shitstorm of emotion and hurt meant the world. hearing everyones stories and goshhhhh when Mary opened up and then Victory came on, I lost it.. I love this community of humans so much and the humbled hearts and openness and willingness to share and connect that I felt from every single person I encountered was more than I could have asked for. everyone on stage and everyone who attended really felt like one that weekend. we are all the same, we all have this burning desire to create and connect. hearing the stories of growth and determination from Mary and Vladimir and Farouk were seriously moving. Its hard to explain how much this show meant to me. I was finally connected with people that get it, that are in the same growth mindset as myself. the girls I came with didn't so much care about being there for the education and networking, they wanted to party and go out, I get it, but I came for something different, I wanted to be surrounded by inspiring people and bottle it up and take it back to my staff. to make me a better leader and show them that they can be anything, ANYTHING. my new goal as a leader/in life is to get every one of my stylists a one shot nomination and get on that wall. I stay preaching about hard work, consistency, and not just to show up, shine up! my heart is so full from this show, it was different from any other big show ive been to, it was more intimate and more real. sure everyone was there for different reasons, but I definitely got what I came for. thank you. I can wait to bring my staff next year!!!
✨Who or what MOST inspired you at THE BTC SHOW 2021?
everyone who let themselves be seen, and be vulnerable. it felt like I connected with everyone and everything. I came in knowing I would be experiencing something so moving and heartfelt. I cried so much Im almost embarrassed to admit how much, but not really. this weekend was life changing for me and I can not say enough how much I needed this, how much we all needed this. I feel most inspired to know we are all the same, nothing sets me and the people onstage apart other than hard work, dedication and consistency. I am preaching this to my staff right now and feel more motived and hyper focused on helping them grow than ever. I am determined to get every single one of my staff members on that wall of nominees at some point in my career. it is my new leadership/life goal. We are all connected and all so alike, was incredible to hear everyones stories and to know I am not alone in my hurt this last year, not alone in my trauma and not alone in the healing process. Thank you.
✨Unbelievably inspired, I wrote on instagram, my mom passed away at the beginning of this year and it has been rough, I began to loose the inspiration and drive to post and to do the social media side of things. This was the BEST DECISION FOR ME! I seriously think it was necessary for my health and my healing, I feel so inspired again I'm ready for another show!
✨Absolutely! It was kind of my make or break in my career. If I wasn’t inspired I was ready to go back to school. I love what I do. I’m not the type to do anything alone. Driving to Texas going solo was an eye opener and such an amazing experience. I came home and was ready to do work and try everything new I learned. Which was a lot! 13 years in the industry. Single mother of three. I’ve never been so driven. You’ll see me soon!
✨Inspired?! How could you NOT after this amazing show! The love, kindness and inclusivity that everyone showed was incredible. That alone was inspiring. The talent, tips and tricks from all the educators and BTC crew go unmatched. Far superior to any other show I have attended. I left the show invigorated, inspired and ready to blow everyone away!
✨I am so thankful I get to be apart of this amazing community. Just being top 25 in the creative category makes me feel like I’ve won. Last year I was nominated in the platinum category. I remember sitting there and telling myself I will do it again next year…. Here I am today so damn proud of myself that I worked day in and day out continued my education and DID IT. I know this year has been an incredibly tough year for all stylist but congratulations to everyone who got up every single day and kept themselves inspired because they know their worth it.
✨Being in the same room as all these incredible stylist really lights a fire underneath me. Seeing and hearing everybody else’s passion burn for this industry shows me that I’m here for a reason. The people that I have surrounded myself with and look up to in this industry inspired me to upgrade my goals. I cannot wait to continue creating this next year and really bring the heat that I know I am capable of.

✨I left the BTC SHOW feeling just happy honestly. I was floating feeling like I was just in a bubble of like minded individuals. I can't wait to try again next year for a One Shot Award. This year I was in the top 100 and was not expecting that at all. It was exciting to be a part of the whole experience for the first time.
✨EVERYTHING WAS ON POINT 100%!!!!!!! I couldn't get over the media and the way everything was presented, the stage, screens on each side of the stage and behind, and the extra screens in the way back so the far seats could have a good view, the connection center option was amazing too! The mics were so clear and the sound was phenomenal! AND an option to watch online. Not to mention the quality of the camera person making it seem like we were literally personally shadowing each presentation! & the amazing quality of the photos posted! Seriously you guys were prepared for everything!
✨Trigger warning—ya girl is about to dissolve into a full on pile of mush! What a weekend! I can without a doubt say that this is by far the most inspired, motivated, and emotional that I’ve felt in the last couple of years. (I’ve only cried 4 times these 5 days!)
Of course I’ve picked up tips, tricks, and technical techniques, plus fangirled over and chatted with so many of my hair heroes, but what you take from @thebtcshows is so much more than that. I made a choice that “good” is not good enough for me. I aspire to be great, a master of my craft, and to surround myself with likeminded individuals, of which I’ve met quite a few this weekend. (Shoutout to my new hair friends @laurenaustin_stylist, @nicoleoharehair, @colour.jade, @aaashleee, @thelooksalonhouston@the_aexp! <3)
✨You are in charge of building your community. Make sure you are surrounding yourself with greatness, or you’re bound to get complacent and end up mediocre. That ain’t cool with me, bb! I saw a quote that I was drawn to multiple times this weekend; “Stop shrinking to fit places you’ve outgrown.” Sometimes that place is your mind, your doubts, your insecurities, and the limitations you place on yourself. Fellow hair slayers—I’m here to tell you: if you ever have the chance to make it to @thebtcshows, do it. You will not regret it.
