Overall Conference Description:
An Introduction to the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, this session will introduce a powerful, accelerated, evidence-based psychotherapy model that taps into our inner resources, separates the Self from the symptom, and provides processes to utilize these inner resources to heal inner wounds.
Objectives:
Attendees will be able to:
1. Identify the basic assumptions of IFS, its non-pathological view of the mind’s multiplicity, the key concept of Self and the (8) qualities of Self energy.
2. Describe the two fundamental techniques— “in-sight” and “direct access.”
3. Identify the three common roles assumed by parts that most often present in therapy.
4. Describe the two intervention processes- the 6 F’s and the unburdening process.
5. Receive an invitation to meet a part(s) of yourself.
