When Psychology Meets ShamanismPsychology and shamanic practice are often positioned as opposites — science versus spirit, logic versus intuition, modern versus ancient.
In truth, they are not separate, and they are not in conflict.
This workshop is designed to help participants understand how psychology and shamanism are deeply connected, where they naturally support one another, and why psychology can be a necessary complement to spiritual work — but not the only path to healing.
Rather than choosing sides, this experiential workshop invites you to step into both frameworks and feel how each one holds space, approaches healing, and works with the inner child.
You’ll experience:
How a psychologically held space feels in the body
How a shamanically held space feels and functions differently
The strengths and limitations of each approach
Why psychological understanding supports safety, integration, and discernment in spiritual practice
Why spiritual and shamanic work address layers that psychology alone cannot reach
Through guided experiences, role-play, and reflective discussion, we explore inner child healing through two lenses: a shamanic approach and a psychological approach (Internal Family Systems / Healthy Adult work).
This workshop is not about replacing psychology with spirituality, nor reducing spirituality to psychology.
It is about integration.
You’ll leave with:
A clearer understanding of the link between psychological and spiritual healing
Greater discernment around what kind of support is needed at different stages of healing
Language to bridge spiritual experiences with psychological integration
A grounded perspective that avoids spiritual bypassing and over-pathologising
This space is educational, experiential, and intentionally bounded — prioritising emotional safety, clarity, and integration.
Facilitators
Fery Qiu – Shamanic Healer
Fery works with shamanic healing, spiritual discernment, and embodied integration. Her work bridges ancient practices with modern awareness, emphasising sovereignty, energetic hygiene, and grounded spiritual development rather than escapism or bypassing.
Carmen Fabrick – Counselling Psychologist
Carmen is a counselling psychologist who brings a trauma-informed, psychologically grounded approach to healing. Her work focuses on parts-based therapy, emotional regulation, and building a strong, healthy adult self to support long-term integration and wellbeing.
