About this Event
Welcome Shabbat with dinner, community, and L’Chaim, America! – The Braid’s acclaimed salon theatre production exploring Jewish life in America today.
We begin around the Shabbat table – sharing a festive meal and making space to gather, connect, and simply be together.
Then, settle in for an intimate live performance of original stories – funny, moving, and deeply human–that reflect the richness and complexity of contemporary Jewish life.
Created in honor of America’s 250th birthday, L’Chaim, America! brings together diverse voices and perspectives, exploring identity, resilience, belonging, and hope–and the kind of country we are still striving to become.
The Braid is a pioneering Jewish story company dedicated to creating, curating, and sharing contemporary Jewish stories. Known for its signature salon theater style–professional actors performing true, first-person narratives—The Braid brings to life voices and experiences often left unheard.
Beyond the stage, The Braid expands access to Jewish storytelling through digital platforms and partnerships, including StoryNosh (a filmed storytelling series), AudioNosh (its podcast), live-streamed performances, and collaborations with ChaiFlicks.
Supported by the National Endowment for the Arts as part of its National America 250 Celebration!
