About this Event

FREE Creative Workshop & Performance Sharing for local children (ages 8 - 12)

Join Imaginate’s newly commissioned artists Cecilia Thoden van Velzen and Cameron Prince for a workshop exploring their new performance, The Boy Who Couldn’t Sit Still.
Through movement, drama games and creative play we’ll discover the magical world of a chair that comes to life and the boy who sits on it. You’ll work with director Cecilia Thoden van Velzen on how to create short performances and giving your feedback on what they’ve created so far. We’ll also work with actor Cameron Prince on bringing characters to life, comedy and movement.
This workshop is part of Imaginate and North Edinburgh Arts project Creative Encounters which puts children at the heart of decision making. The Boy Who Couldn’t Sit Still was chosen from several applications by a group of children from Pilton Youth and Children’s Project. The final performance will premiere at the North Edinburgh Community Festival before heading to the National Museum of Scotland as part of the Edinburgh International Childrens Festival’s Family Encounters Day 2024.
So please come along and input into this brand new performance chosen by and created for the children of North Edinburgh.
