This is a six part series meeting in-person 9/29, 10/6, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, & 11/17.(The Wellness Living booking page says “1 session” but don't worry, you are signing up for all six sessions.)
Using Sonya Renee Taylor's book “The Body Is Not an Apology: The Power of Radical Self-Love” as our guide, we will explore the concepts of body relationships and self-love to heal and counteract body image issues, fatphobia, and self-hate. Using a liberation and social justice worldview, we will challenge internalized messages of rejection and explore within ourselves the healing, nurturing voice of love and acceptance. Come expecting to challenge your assumptions about bodies and health, explore your body story, and learn concrete techniques for rebuilding trust and love with yourself that you can apply to your relationship with your body image, food, and movement.
About the Facilitator:
Rose Lange (she/her) is a local couple and family therapist specializing in body image issues. Using a fat liberation lens, she assists individuals and families in rebuilding trust with their bodies, food, and movement. She also specializes in the LGBTQIA+ population. For this workshop she is bringing her doctoral-level expertise in relational ethics and body image. When not in session you can find her playing with her three-pound rabbit Ollie, reading fiction, and watching movies.
