The Blues Project's 2026 tour: Roy Blumenfeld merges together his long-time East and West Coast compatriots to carry forward The Blues Project's merging of genres, which has captured the group’s "signature boundary pushing sound while introducing new musical flavors, including New Orleans funk, zydeco, and R&B influences.."

THE BLUES PROJECT / LIVE 2025 / Globe Records - "This album release keeps the flag flying for the Blues Project sixty years after they first formed. While there is only drummer Roy Blumenfield left from the original line up the band are continuing the flavour and spirit of the 1960’s Blues Project band with an eclectic mix of music rooted in the Blues. These are Live recordings but are of studio quality which is not surprising given the quality of the musicians in the current line-up. All the band member’s share lead vocals across the thirteen tracks... the material mixes some historic songs written by Al Kooper with more recent songs; the forementioned Al’s song Flute Thing is a superb instrumental track which allows all the band members to flex their muscles with some improvisational playing. The Blues Project were and still are a great band who created a unique sound from mixing Folk, Blues, Jazz and R&B into their music, which was further enhanced by their improvisational skills. An album to treasure and one that brings back happy memories from my youth, nostalgic but with a modern twist." - ADRIAN BLACKLEE
