The Black Promise end of year celebration
Welcome to the end-of-year celebration hosted by the Black Promise. Join us on December 11, 2025 at 3:30 PM to hear about our campaign, our work so far & of course to share some food together.
We'll spend the first hour (3.30-4.30pm) sharing information about our work & our learing so far, followed by a chance to network, build connections & celebrate each other. With plenty of food to fuel this important community creation.
Who we are
The Black Promise is a collective of Black and racially minoritised community leaders, care-experienced people, and professionals — including White solidarity partners — committed to tackling systemic racism in Scotland’s social care system.
Our vision
Our goal is to create a culturally safe and equitable system where all children and families can thrive. Currently, we are focusing on three urgent priorities: mandatory anti-racism and cultural competency training, ring-fenced funding and representation, and recruitment of Black and culturally competent carers. We welcome partners who share this vision and can help us influence policy, funding, and practice.
