This spooky season joins us as we return to the films of the “master of suspense”, Alfred Hitchcock.
In this chilling film, The Birds, Hitchcock turns the skies into a place of dread, anxiety, and fear. Chaos is unleashed as a seemingly ordinary flock of birds turns into a source of dread, with an assault on an otherwise sleepy and quaint coastal town.
Inspired by the Daphne du Maurier short story of the same name, a socialite from San Francisco (played wonderfully by Tippi Hedren) moves to a sleepy coastal town to pursue a potential partner.
It is in this small coastal Californian town that things take a strange turn when ordinary flocks of birds turn their attention to the human inhabitants.
The Birds is a quintessential classic of the suspense genre of the 1960s, letting Hitchcock live up to his moniker.
