Join us as we look at all nature, from insects to trees to mammals to fungi to wildflowers to reptiles - and everything in between. Last year on our first Big Stowe BioBlitz we recorded an incredible 340 species and this year we hope to find even more. To complete our challenge, we need as many eyes on the ground as possible - and everyone of all ages and abilities is welcome! We are running the BioBlitz through iNaturalist which helps ID species from a photo so all you need is a bit of an enthusiasm and either a phone to download the iNaturalist app on, or a camera to take photos to then upload on the iNaturalist website at home. If you have a chance, please download the app in advance so you are all ready to go on the day. We will also have paper spotter sheets available if you do not wish to use the app. The data you collect will contribute to national citizen science records and be used by us at Stowe to inform our wildlife conservation work.
Meet us at our drop-in BioBlitz HQ stall outside of New Inn Visitor Centre anytime between 10-4.30pm on Saturday 28 June where we will give you all the information on planned events for the day, hand out spotter sheets and answer any questions. You will then be able to explore and survey the gardens and parkland in your own time.
Book your free ticket now, or turn up on the day.
If you have any questions, or would be interested in attending as a group or specialist survey, please email [email protected]
