The 2024 Big StepOff Finals – This 19th year will continue to bring the community right into the heart of the art of dance. The One & Only Big StepOff Preliminary, held on July 20, 2024, yielded 6 couples - who will compete for prizes and a Cash Purse for a top spot in what has become Kansas City’s longest-running and most celebrated 2-Step competition, The Big StepOff – The 19th Annual!
The KC 2Steppin’ Community takes great pride and passion as we continually reminisce, demonstrate, showcase, explore, listen, share, network, and steadily teach the KC 2Step for the sake of longevity, along with physical and mental health benefits, this heavily -populated ballroom steppin’ dance, The Kansas City 2Step.
With every couple who claims a spot on the dance floor as the music streams and permeates to the soul, any audience will experience the various styles of grace and passion which are poetically represented in Kansas City tradition of over 60 years with The Kansas City 2-Step
Do not miss this 2023 longest-running Steppin’ event as we open up the Finals competition audience to ages 13 and up. The Finals take place August 25, 2024 – at 6 pm at the historic Gem Theater (1615 E 18th St, Kansas City, MO 64108).
Competition couples will compete to claim their bragging rights as the best in the city, accompanied by this year’s winner prize trophies – from All-Star Awards & Specialties in Westport in KCMO, silver sterling winner rings – with names engraved from Tenth Street Jewelers of KCK. The Cash Purse and Prizes are from ticket sales and several donations offered from loyal supporters and believers in this culturally-derived pastime, which has been passed down from the 60’s era, and remains as a staple in our Kansas City community.
