Energising East Durham invite you to ‘The Big Solar Conversation’
Saturday 11th April, 2pm – 5pm, Shotton Hub (lunch beforehand from 1pm)
Are solar farms beneficial or damaging to our environment and communities?
Would you be ok with a solar farm nearby if you could buy cheaper electricity direct from it? How about if the solar farm was owned by the community?
Do you think it’s important to listen and try to understand more about to perspectives you disagree with?
Do you want to be listened to and listen to others on this topic?
Solar farms are a hot topic in East Durham right now. Some of us are concerned about the impact on farmland and our relationship with our precious countryside. Some of us think it’s good we are making more electricity from green sources. Some of us aren’t sure what we think. Some of us agree with both sides.
This open conversation is a chance for you to be heard. A chance to understand ourselves more. A chance to learn about community owned solar. A chance to come together in community with all our similarities and our differences.
What if conflict could be a fast way to create more community?
We need all sides, all people, all different parts of you and all your feelings to take part so that it can all be valued and respected.
Come join our Big Solar Conversation.
You can tell us if you plan to attend by emailing [email protected] or you can simply turn up on the day. Do email if you want lunch!
