About this Event

12 iconic songs. One unforgettable voice. Just Adele — through strings, piano and silence.

A voice that defined a generation. A sound that cuts through silence. A woman who turned heartbreak into art. The Best of Adele invites you to experience the emotional power of Adele’s music as never before — in a cinematic, instrumental performance by the renowned Mystery Ensemble in an intimate church setting lightened by a flicker of hundreds of candles. In this one-hour concert, soaring string arrangements reveal the architecture behind Adele’s songs: the ache, the weight, the quiet strength. From the first piano note of Hello to the final pulse of Chasing Pavements, every melody is reborn in shimmering acoustics, with no words needed to feel every word. This is not a tribute concert. It’s a curated, immersive experience — somewhere between a film score, a diary, and a love letter.

Duration: 60 minutes

Age restriction: 6+

Doors open at least 30 minutes before the concert.

Out of respect for guests and performers, late entry may not be permitted. We cannot guarantee your original seats after the concert begins.

About venue

Greyfriars Kirk is one of Edinburgh’s most historic and atmospheric churches, located in the very heart of the Old Town. Founded in 1620, the Kirk is closely woven into Scotland’s national story — most famously associated with the signing of the National Covenant in 1638. Surrounded by the iconic Greyfriars Kirkyard, the building stands as a powerful symbol of faith, heritage, and resilience.

The interior offers a striking combination of historic gravitas and luminous openness. Elegant arches, tall windows, and beautifully restored features create a space that feels both dignified and welcoming. The balance of intimacy and scale

makes the Kirk particularly well-suited to concerts that seek emotional immediacy within an architectural setting.

Renowned for its clear and resonant acoustics, Greyfriars Kirk provides an exceptional environment for choral works, chamber ensembles, sacred repertoire, and candlelit performances. Sound carries naturally beneath the vaulted ceiling, allowing music to unfold with warmth, presence, and expressive clarity.

In the cultural heart of Edinburgh, Greyfriars Kirk offers a venue where centuries of history meet the living voice of contemporary performance — a space where music resonates within one of Scotland’s most storied settings.

PERFORMERS

🎻 Mystery Ensemble

Mystery Ensemble is a group of professional musicians performing unique programs in non-standard venues around the UK and Europe.

Experience outstanding works from different eras, experimental music, tributes, and world soundtracks of films and series, as well as unique programs and immersive shows. All music is presented in the author’s arrangements. With the possibility of independent program choice, unexpected locations, and flexible formats, our team of professional musicians is inspired to bring their favourite music to life.

Founded in 2021, our contemporary music studio has grown rapidly, with over 40 shows in the UK in its first year. Our founder, Almin Alexander, has devoted more than 12 years to the music industry and the development of cultural initiatives worldwide, working with many outstanding musicians and musical groups.

The ensemble’s repertoire contains an incredible amount of music. Just look at some of the programs so dearly loved by our viewers: these are tribute concerts of such great composers as Ludovico Einaudi, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Ólafur Arnalds, Joe Hisaishi, or the minimalists’ John Cage and David Lang, along with At the same time, the ensemble performs popular soundtracks from sensational TV shows and movies: Wednesday, The Young Pope, Harry Potter, a variety of Disney and Pixar films, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit saga, Spencer, Star Wars and others. There is also the unique music of Enigma and Enya, combined with neoclassical music or world-rock hits, and tributes to the legendary Michael Jackson, Queen, and the Beatles. For lovers of the classics, the ensemble collection includes music by W.A. Mozart, J.S. Bach, L.V. Beethoven, R. Wagner, I. Strauss, P.I. Tchaikovsky, S.V. Rachmaninov, and other key composers. And much more. Every month, the studio releases new programs and updates the existing repertoire.

For some projects, the team gathers as part of a chamber or small symphony orchestra.

Join us and experience the creative energy and passion that drives our team to bring music to life in unforgettable ways!
