About this Event
Chisenhale Gallery presents THE BEGINNING IS NEAR, a newly commissioned durational sound performance by artist collaborators Willow Swan and Ellis Berwick. Rooted in the duo's interest in repurposing industrial materials into improvised wind instruments the performance will navigate industrial, geographic and biological terrains to create an immersive sonic environment reflecting on memory, identity and ritual. Swan and Berwick will draw from the social and political history of the foghorn to produce a series of sculptural wind instruments that will create a dronal soundscape suffused with electronic tones and textures.
